Ottavia Austin Rezola

Policy Advisor

Ottavia Austin Rezola is a policy advisor for the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF). With technical specialization in environmental management, life-cycle and environmental, social, and governance risk assessment, and industrial engineering, Ottavia’s research supports the IGF’s critical mineral team. 

Before IISD, Ottavia worked as a policy consultant for the Environmental Coalition on Standards on themes related to circular economy, sufficiency, and sustainability standards. Previously, she worked as a research assistant for the Geneva Water Hub, conducting research into climate-resilient water arrangements as a vector for peacebuilding in transboundary contexts, and as a youth ambassador at Wilton Park, an Executive Agency of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. 

Ottavia holds an undergraduate degree in sustainable development from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in environmental management and policy from the IIIEE, Lund University. 

Based in Geneva, Ottavia speaks English, Spanish, French, and basic Swedish.
